Dinah, ClinkShrink, & Roy produce Shrink Rap: a blog by Psychiatrists for Psychiatrists. A place to talk; no one has to listen. All patient vignettes are confabulated; the psychiatrists, however, are mostly real. --Topics include psychotherapy, humor, depression, bipolar, anxiety, schizophrenia, medications, ethics, psychopharmacology, forensic and correctional psychiatry, psychology, mental health, chocolate, and emotional support ducks. Don't ask. (It's not Shrink Wrap.)

All true therapeutic relationships have got to be severable. We're more familiar with the scenario shown in the cartoon, where the client doesn't like what she hears from a potential therapist.
What about the other way 'round? I maintain that docs should be able to discharge stable clients, not in crisis, whenever the therapeutic contract is broken (see discussion re: payment, for example).
Many pedies fire families that refuse to vaccinate. I keep them on. But I support my colleagues' decision.
WV = ningess. Female ning
Still makes me smile.
